Dashboards
Your live Pulse dashboard — widgets, tabs, and real-time data at a glance.
When you open your application, the dashboard is the first thing you see. It is a live board of widgets — metrics, charts, tables, action cards, and more — built specifically for your role in the organization. Your administrator creates and deploys these dashboards using the Pulse builder, so the data and layout you see are tailored to what matters most for your work.
Dashboard layout
Widgets are arranged in a responsive masonry grid that adapts to your screen size. Each widget occupies a portion of the grid — some span a single column, others stretch wider to show more detail. The layout adjusts automatically as you resize your browser window, so dashboards work well on both wide monitors and smaller screens.
Tabs
Your dashboard may have multiple tabs across the top of the page. Each tab contains a different set of widgets — for example, an "Overview" tab with high-level KPIs, a "Details" tab with charts and tables, and an "Alerts" tab with recent notifications. Click a tab to switch to its widget set. The active tab is highlighted.
Widget types you may see
Depending on how your dashboard was configured, you may encounter several types of widgets:
- Metric cards — show a single KPI value (e.g., "Total Revenue: $42,500") with an optional trend indicator (up/down arrow with percentage) and a small sparkline chart
- Charts — line charts for trends over time, bar charts (vertical or horizontal) for comparisons, and pie/donut charts for proportional breakdowns
- Alert cards — notification-style cards showing recent alerts, warnings, or important updates with action buttons
- Summary cards — condensed text blocks summarizing key information
- Action cards — cards with buttons you can click to perform common tasks, like navigating to a detail page or sending a message to the AI agent
- List cards — scrollable lists showing multiple items, such as top customers, recent orders, or feature checklists
- Step cards — visual step-by-step process displays showing workflow stages
Interacting with widgets
Some widgets are interactive — they respond when you click or tap on them. Depending on how the widget was set up, clicking may:
- Navigate to a detail page with more information
- Open a panel showing expanded data or a form
- Send a message to the AI agent to get more context or perform an action
- Refresh data to show the latest numbers
Interactive widgets typically have visual cues like buttons, links, or hover effects to indicate they are clickable.
Live data
Widgets pull data from your organization's systems in real time. When your dashboard loads, each widget fetches its data independently — so you may see some widgets display their content before others. If a data source takes a moment to respond, the widget shows a loading state until the data arrives.
Data can come from several sources depending on how your dashboard was configured: REST APIs, database queries, or real-time streaming connections. The specifics are handled behind the scenes — you simply see the results.
Generation and streaming
When a dashboard is being generated for the first time (or when your administrator has regenerated it), you will see widgets stream in progressively. A progress indicator shows the generation status. Widgets appear one by one as the AI completes each one, so you can start reviewing the first widgets while the rest are still being built.
What-if scenarios
Where enabled, the scenario explorer (sparkle icon in the left navigation rail) lets you ask "what happens if…?" questions against your data. Describe a hypothetical scenario in plain language — for example, "What if we increase marketing spend by 20%?" or "What if we lose our top 3 clients?" — and explore the projected impact.
Each scenario is saved as a thread, so you can revisit past explorations and refine them with follow-up questions.
Troubleshooting
Widgets stuck loading: Refresh the page. If a single widget fails to load, it displays an error card while the rest of the dashboard continues to work normally. The error is isolated to that one widget.
Empty dashboard: Your organization may not have deployed a Pulse dashboard for your role yet. Contact your administrator to check whether a dashboard has been created and deployed for your agent and role combination.
Stale data: Widgets fetch fresh data when the dashboard loads. If you have been on the page for a while and want the latest numbers, refresh the page to trigger a new data fetch across all widgets.
Layout looks different than expected: The masonry grid adapts to your screen width. If widgets appear in a single column, try widening your browser window. On very narrow screens, widgets stack vertically for readability.
